The journey to see King Tut

Since October, the Dallas Museum of Art has been a host of the King Tut, and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibit. We have told Raigan that we would go to this but of course with our schedule we did not make it until yesterday. Hearing the news that it was in its last weekend pushed us to attend. The last time such exhibits came to the us was 1977!

Having soccer canceled we went down to downtown Dallas on Saturday morning. However, the tickets were specific time periods and they were for several hours in advance. We had our musical rehearsal in the middle of the afternoon back in VA. So we stood in the rain on the street to buy tickets. Then we headed back to VA.

Then following rehearsals we traded Kailan and Jaidan for Austin Moore. Kristi had a regional track meet. The kids did really well going through such an adult exhibit. Raigan loves history, wonder where she got that!  She really loves reading diary type books of kids living during historical periods. Kerrigan loves going places and not missing out! Kerrigan and Austin liked listening to the audio commentary that went with so many artifacts. We then quickly walked through the Art Collections, several areas that brought about chuckles and outright laughter, but it was empty so it was the best time to take kids through ancient art areas. It was a crazy day, but well worth it.

I was unable to take any pictures inside the museum but here some of the favorite things we saw.
