A note on my desk….

image1I walked into my office last week and found this note on my desk. This note was unsigned, and it is probably one of the reasons that I feel comfortable putting this on here. It is a goal of my life to be a true follower of Christ and the best dad that I could be, and the rest would take care of itself. I keep notes like these, that have encouraged me to keep going. This one will always be special to me.

Did you always know you would be such a wonderful father? Sometimes when you think you're not doing enough and begin to second guess yourself you should remember that you and Kristi are wonderful parents - doing a GREAT job. Not only are you setting examples for your girls, but there are plenty of younger eyes watching you, learning and setting goals according to what they see in you.

          • I remember being at a conference with Doug Fields, the youth pastor at Saddleback Church. He made a statement in this class concerning divorce: “I would challenge youth ministers to do a couple of things to help the divorce issue in our country: stay in your church, quite jumping around from town to town and while you are there display what a family is supposed to be like for the people over time. Teach a new generation what a father looks like.” I think this note confirms that truth.
