Christmas 2008

Christmas for the Servati family means heading to Oklahoma. There was some question whether we would be able to go, because of issues with Kristi's back. I had a conversation with the Raigan and Kerrigan in the car one afternoon after school to prepare them for that possibility and they broke down crying. I came to realize just how important it is to them to keep the family traditions that we have established.

Christmas Eve is now spent at Nana's house with the extended family. "Mom" who is now 97 was there with her three children and their families. I think there were close to 40 people for the food and time together. Christmas Morning is Santa gifts under the tree. Then we head to Nana's for breakfast around 10:30am. Later that evening we are at Meme and Papa's with Shane's family.

This is the slide of pics from this time together.

A couple of funny moments was when Jaidan opened the american girl doll and threw it down because she did not like it! We thought it was because it had brown hair, but it was because she did not like the dress she was wearing, which was fixed and all was well. Her favorite gift might have been the snow globe that we bought at walgreens the night of going to see Christmas lights. She was upset that night that she could not get it, and then it appeared on Christmas Day!
