UIL results

Yesterday was the UIL competition for both Kerrigan and Raigan. We hosted the competition at our Elem and MS campuses. It started at noon, and all VA students got out of school early except for those competing. I am so proud of our girls for several reasons that have nothing to do with the results. To be a competitor you have to try out, make the team, and then go to practices. The practices were held before school for Kerrigan and both before and after for Raigan. It was especially neat to watch Kerrigan in getting up twice a week and excited about it each day.

I thought that I would share an email that Raigan sent to a friend that is homeschooled explaining the process:

Today was our UIL (University Interscholastic League) competition.  It is a meet with everyone in our district to meet in and have a competition, buy there is a lot of events.  I was in Maps, Graphs, and Charts; Listening Skills, and Ready Writing.  Maps, Graphs, and Charts is a thing where you have a Atlas and questions about maps, graphs, and charts.  Listening Skills is where you listen to someone reading a story and you can take as many notes as you want on the story then you answer questions about the story with your notes. Ready Writing is where you have to write a story within 2:00 and they give you two topics  to chose to right about .  So anyways, I got placed in Maps, Graphs, and Charts and Listening Skills 3rd in Maps, Graphs, and Charts and 4th in Listening Skills (out of 18 people, I think)! I havent gotten placed and this is my 3rd year to do it! I'm so excited!By the way Natalia and Ashley got placed too! I hope that we get enough team points so that Molly will get a award too.
