A calmer weekend, sort of...

This weekend was a little less stressful on the Servati family. It actually was about the same on the busyness but without a trip to a hospital! Saturday from now until the end of April is kids sports day. There is not even one weekend of a break from basketball to soccer season.

Kerrigan plays each Saturday morning at 8am or 9am. That is something to look forward to for six weeks! Kerrigan actually played this weekend even with stitches. They only have six girls, so they needed her to give some people a break. She did good but obviously was a little timid. We were just proud of her for getting out there!

Raigan's played a double header this weekend. The first game we were loosing in the 4th quarter by as much as six points. When the scores are less than 20 for a whole game, that is a lot. Her team came back to tie with 12 seconds. The other team called a timeout and setup to inbound the ball. Raigan jumped the pass by our goal and banked it in for the win!

The second game was against a much better team. I had thought that there was no way our team could beat them, but we found a way! We had a four point lead in the fourth with about a minute to go. They were inbounding the ball in front of our bench. The girl throwing it in was right next to me. I turned to say something to Kristi, and when I turned back Raigan had intercepted the inbound pass and was laying it up for a six point lead. The two girls never got a chance to move before she had even scored!

What I love is how intense of a competitor Raigan is. She plays the whole game and has the same energy throughout the whole thing. Of course she plays soccer which play 25 minute halves without a timeout. Basketball is four,  six minute quarters, which is basically a half of a soccer game. She seems to find a way to make a play at the end of games whether it is soccer or basketball.

Sounds like a great game. Wish we could have seen them. We just found out Nana's arm was in a sling. Tell Griff to quit coaching and start video taping so we can check out those great games.
