Nothing welcomes a new year better than a waterpark! Despite the wintry weather, we decided to  take the girls to a full scale waterpark to bring in the new year. They have developed a new way of wintry waterpark where you wear specialized coats and outer gear. Sounds a little crazy, that is because it is. But so did the idea of an indoor waterpark, until now! 

Meme and Papa take the girls on a trip following the busy month of December. We have normally gone to a hotel in Frisco and for the kids swimming has always been the highlight. Just a couple of weeks ago a new hotel opened in the DFW area called the Great Wolf Lodge. This hotel has an indoor waterpark with some rides are 4-5 stories high! The tunnels at times loop outside the building and come back into the building.

When we first arrived we made a mistake in taking the girls up to the biggest ride that they had.  They had several two person rides that we should have warmed up on, but no Papa and I took Raigan and Kerrigan to the Howlin Tornado! It was a scary experience that they would not repeat during our stay! We should have warmed up a little bit more to with the smaller rides, we were not even wet until we hit this 5 story drop into a funnel.

For the longest time, hotels served people in going to tourist sites. Now the hotel is the tourist destination! The waterpark had: kids playground and slides, big kid water playground and slides, lazy river, wave pool, two high double rider tube rides, and two four person tube rides. This hotel was a family designed hotel. They had a story time each night with animated characters, and a adventure scavenger hunt using each floor of the hotel. Using a magic wand (that you had to purchase) it would animate different pictures or elements. It would record your progress in your wand and you could stop an pick up playing again at a different time.

We had a great time, and were not ready to leave!
