Trinity Trojan Football Road Trip
This is a same post that I made on our student ministry site, and I thought that I would double post it.
Tonight was the first night of football playoffs in Texas. Mike Singleton and traveled to see Euless Trinity vs Arlington. The reason that we chose to go to the game was that there are some friends of mine and yours that we wanted to see. The Ryon family was a part of our church about three years back. David Ryon was the head football at Anna, along with wife Anne and kids Caleb and Audrey. The Ryon's taught in our youth Sunday School, and the kids were very active. David is now on the staff at Trinity and Caleb is on the team.
They are still two of the best kids you would ever want to meet. I will never forget waking up every morning at Summit Camp, and Caleb would already be awake. He was always the first one awake, I never got up before he did! But more than that he was always reading his Bible. Audrey's smile is still as infectious as it was every day here. How we miss this tremendous family, and think of them often. We had lost personal touch with the Ryon's after they moved. But about two weeks ago, I was thinking about them and about the need to get in touch. I came in house to check my email to find a message from Audrey! So that started some great email catching up. FYI: Caleb is now a senior and Audrey a sophomore.
In case you are interested Trinity football has a unique tradition to start and end a game, the Haka dance. Watch this video that was featured on CBS National news. FYI - they are the #3 5A team in Texas, and won tonight 31-0.
