progress

Today was a day of progress for Kailan! Her breathing rate is moving to a more normal speed. She is now off of the oxygen and cpap machine. She has tubes in front of her nose that pushes "regular air" for her to breath. Tonight they will put a tube into her stomach that will have start her on breast milk. This tube will get her body started to accept the milk. She is getting to nuzzle with Kristi, Kailan is sitting her lap to get accustomed to her mother.

Another highlight of the day is that the hooked her up to a portable oxygen tank. We then  walked her to the door at the waiting room to allow her sisters to finally get to she her. This is the first chance that they have actually seen her. (see pictures below) At sherman they opened the door and were able to look across the room. But they were eye level to the crib and really only saw her feet.

Thanks for all of your prayers, messages of concern and support, it is working!

I have updated some pictures of the whole experience, current through Saturday night: Kailan birth pictures
