Soccer Camp
Last year at the last minute we led a soccer camp on our mission trip. This was very successful part of our mission, and we plan to lead a camp again this summer. We got to reach more people through soccer that then came to our VBS in the evening.
God had brought soccer into my life throu gh Kristi, signing my up to be Raigan's coach. I knew nothing about it, made fun of it, but over the seasons I have learned to love the game. We have purchased equipment, books, and dvd's about coaching. It was time that we host a camp here in VA.
We made available a free soccer camp for kids in our community during the week of Spring Break. I had thought that we might have 25-30 kids per-day, because of people being out of town. I was wrong, we had highs of 65 kids.We had a great turnout for the five days, we had close to 100 different children attend one of the days.
We had 30 different students volunteer to lead the groups. The majority of them not ever played soccer. But you dont have to be a soccer expert, you just need to show love. We had several comments about how great our students were in volunteering. One grandmother crying in appreciation, for giving her grandson the attention that he needed. It was a great week of soccer and ministry.
Of course we took pictures.
Here are some pictures to highlight:

To keep me humble, one of my players, just before she totally faked me out. (with a move that I taught her)
Kerrigan at camp taking a break. The kids really did have fun, even though this picture does not show it!
Here is miss Raigan running to get a drink of water. She is taking her ball, so that no one else will get it!
